uncode_shortcode_id=&#8221;121914&#8243;]We can provide protection for your stored goods on a new replacement basis.\r\n\r\nStoreProtect is an extension to our standard contract that allows us to accept liability for loss or damage to your goods in certain circumstances.\r\n\r\nOur liability under StoreProtect is accepted on a <strong>new replacement<\/strong> basis for most goods you store.\u00a0 However, there are restrictions for some items, such as jewellery, watches, furs, fine art, beers, wines and electrical items.\u00a0 We cannot offer Store Protect for motor cars stored outside a unit or food\/perishable items.\r\n\r\n<strong>Please read our <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gatwickselfstorage.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/StorageAgreement2023.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Self Storage Agreement<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gatwickselfstorage.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/StoreProtect-Addendum.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">StoreProtect Addendum<\/a> for full details of the protection we can provide.<\/strong>\r\n\r\nTo benefit from StoreProtect, you must declare an appropriate new replacement value for all goods stored (known as Maximum Replacement Value).\u00a0 This figure must be adequate to include all goods at all times\r\n\r\nIf you do not opt for StoreProtect, our standard terms limit our liability for your goods to a maximum of \u00a3100.\u00a0 You are also required to arrange insurance at your own expense for your stated Maximum Reinstatement Value for the duration of storage.[\/vc_column_text][vc_separator sep_color=&#8221;,Default&#8221; css_animation=&#8221;zoom-in&#8221;][vc_custom_heading css_animation=&#8221;right-t-left&#8221; uncode_shortcode_id=&#8221;197130&#8243;]<strong>How do I calculate my Maximum Replacement Value?<\/strong>[\/vc_custom_heading][vc_column_text css_animation=&#8221;right-t-left&#8221; uncode_shortcode_id=&#8221;175321&#8243;]We must understand the total value of all goods stored with us, even if you arrange insurance elsewhere.\u00a0 It is, therefore, a requirement for all customers to declare a suitable Maximum Replacement Value and to ensure it remains adequate for the storage period.\r\n\r\nYour <strong>Maximum Replacement Value<\/strong> must represent the total current cost of replacing <u>all<\/u> stored property <u>as new<\/u>, except the following items where the replacement cost is calculated differently:\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Household linen and clothing, motorcars, motorbikes, boats, caravans, motorhomes and any other motorised vehicle, where the Replacement Value allows for the age, quality, degree of use, existing damage and consequent market value;<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Any goods which cannot be purchased new (such as antiques or works of art, for example), where the replacement value shall be the current market value;<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Documents, where the Replacement Value shall be calculated as the physical cost of replacing the documents and\/or cost of reprinting, re-issue and\/or reconstitution, but excluding the value of the information contained in the documents<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n[\/vc_column_text][vc_separator sep_color=&#8221;,Default&#8221; uncode_shortcode_id=&#8221;207384&#8243;]If the <strong>Maximum Replacement Value <\/strong>you provide is less than the actual total Replacement Value of all of your property stored at the time of loss or damage, then our liability under StoreProtect will be reduced to reflect the proportion that your Maximum Replacement Value bears to the actual total Replacement Value (\u201cProportional Reduction\u201d).\r\n\r\nFor example: if the total replacement value of your property is \u00a310,000, but you have declared a Maximum Replacement Value of \u00a35,000, our liability will be reduced by 50%, So if \u00a33,000 worth of Your Property is lost or damaged, our liability would be \u00a31,500.\r\n\r\n<strong>Please read our <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gatwickselfstorage.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/StorageAgreement2023.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Self Storage Agreement<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gatwickselfstorage.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/StoreProtect-Addendum.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">StoreProtect Addendum<\/a> for further information.<\/strong>[\/vc_column_text][vc_separator sep_color=&#8221;,Default&#8221; uncode_shortcode_id=&#8221;162620&#8243;]<strong>There are certain items which are not suitable for storage.\u00a0 Please see the following list, and also refer to condition 6.3 of our Self Storage Agreement:<\/strong>\r\n\r\nYou must not store (or allow any other person to store) any of the following in the Unit:\r\n\r\nFood or perishable goods\r\n\r\nAny living creatures\r\n\r\nCombustible or flammable substances such as gas, paint, petrol, oil, cleaning solvents or compressed gases;\r\n\r\nFirearms, explosives, weapons or ammunition;\r\n\r\nChemicals, radioactive materials, biological agents, toxic waste, asbestos or other potentially hazardous substances;\r\n\r\nAny Goods that emit fumes or odours;\r\n\r\nAny illegal Goods or substances or goods illegally obtained such as, but not limited to, illicit (counterfeit\/smuggled) tobacco or alcohol and unlicensed or unsafe goods (such as toys, electrical goods, medicines, aerosols, cosmetics, fireworks);\r\n\r\nGoods which are environmentally harmful or that are a risk to the property of any person\r\n\r\nCurrency, deeds and securities;\r\n\r\nProperty where the value to you cannot be assessed on a financial basis, including goods purely of sentimental value;
